Ecosustain is a small company with big ideas: ideas to ignite deeper awareness of environmental sustainability and a passion for related behavioural change.
Through collaboration, partnership, education and innovation, the mission of Ecosustain is to align with like-minded people, one at a time, person by person, and set alight a chain of reactions and subsequent actions to generate a new and a greener future for us all – together.
Since 2015, one such step has been the roll out of the Eco-Schools Programme: engaging the youth of today to protect the planet of tomorrow. Through auditing and amending policies, buildings, ecosystems and behaviours, this programme impacts school life at all levels, ultimately gaining recognition and accreditation for such changes.
The programme sows seeds in the hearts and minds of individual children which, over time, flourish and spill out way beyond their playgrounds, their schools and into their adulthood.
My name is Zoe. I’m the director of this initiative. Join me! It’s sure to be an eco-v an adventure..

doing the right thing – together
As schools become more focused on creating a more sustainable and green environment, they are looking for new ways to reduce energy consumption and promote energy efficiency. One of the best ways to do so is by implementing simple and cost-effective eco-schools energy saving ideas. Below are five of our top tips to help make your school greener and more energy efficient:
— –
1. Upgrade Lightbulbs to LEDs – Replacing traditional light bulbs with LED lights can reduce energy consumption by up to 80%, significantly reducing your school’s electricity bill. LEDs also last longer and provide better lighting than standard bulbs, making them even better for the environment.
2. Utilize Natural Light – By implementing different strategies such as installing larger windows or light shelves, your school can take advantage of natural sunlight during the day, reducing reliance on electricity.
3. Optimize Heating & Air Conditioning – With the help of a qualified technician, your school can make sure that the heating and cooling systems are running optimally, reducing energy waste and lowering your energy bills.
4. Implement Leak Reduction Strategies – Checking pipes and drains for leaks and cracks can save a lot of money on the water bill. Just one small leak can waste up to 5,000 gallons of water a month!
5. Invest in Motion Sensor Lights – Installing motion sensor lights in high traffic areas not only save you money on electricity, but they can also help improve safety in the hallways.
